Meet you downstairs in the bar and hurt Your rolled up sleeves and your skull t-shirt You say what did you do it with him today? And sniffed me out like I was Tanqueray takeaway
Cause you're my fella, my guy Hand me your stella and fly fries By the time I'm out the door You tear men down like Roger Moore
Oops. Food-obsessed much?

Yes that's right, this year I'm taking part in the Race For Life at Hampstead Heath on the 10th June. I'll be running with my friend Lucy, who lost her Grandma at the end of last year to stomach cancer. Please help us out by making a donation at our fundraising page (see below) – and bask in the warm glowy feeling you get from doing a bit of good.

Thanks! xxx

I love the dummy copy that our designers use when they lay out magazine pages. Like today, I came across this gem of a paragraph:
Umpteen Macintoshes partly drunkenly tickled two quixotic sheep. Umpteen mostly obese Macintoshes lamely untangles two very bourgeois mats, then umpteen Jabberwockies towed speedy Klingons, although five quixotic aardvarks laughed, but Minnesota towed Jupiter, although Tokyo fights irascible dwarves. irascible dwarves. irascible dwarves. irascible dwarves

So today I was chatting to Patsy Palmer over breakfast. What a nice lady.
Last night was the Grazia/H&M event in Kensington, I went along and duly got trollied. Bought some nice cardigans and – I blame the champagne consumption – a ridiculous pair of oversized sunglasses. The goodie bag had an odd bag and nice belt in.
And THEN we crossed the road to have a look in Habitat, only to discover that they were offering free champagne and massages. Champagne served in wine glasses. I'm glad I managed to wobble home in one piece.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead, Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood. For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Sorry about the impersonal nature of recent posts, this should revert to normal when I finish my placement at NW at the end of the week.
Had a hard day at work today. I spent three hours pounding the (cold) streets of Covent Garden, Soho and Regents Street finding girls willing to be photographed for 'Rate My Style'.
Then got back and wrote this for the website (including the headline, LOLZ):

I've been asked back in February as web assistant, yay. So, if I don't get the sub job that I have an interview for tomorrow at least I know I'm not going to become an unemployed hermit anytime soon.
I am so tired. Zzz.

We're looking for opinionated, trendy men and women in their early thirties to take part in the monthly reader panel of NW magazine.
Each month we invite four men and four women with an interest in pop culture to be guest editors of NW.
As well as asking you to answer questions from our readers and make comments on issues in our articles, we will invite you to a photoshoot on Monday 8th January where you will be pampered, dressed and photographed for our April issue.
We are only interested in people from outside London - the further North the better - but you can be living in London at the moment. As long as you don't list London as your hometown we're interested!
In return for your help we will give you a prize - in the past this has been a case of wine or a handful of high street vouchers!
If you're interested in taking part, please get in touch. You will need to be available to come to our offices in London on 8th January 2007. We will also need to be able to contact you easily via email after the shoot to get your opinions on the hottest issues!
Email intern@newwoman.co.uk or post a reply

I love Christmas. I'm watching the aftermath of Pauline Fowler's death while feeling a bit sick from scoffing too much bubble & squeak and trifle. I did rather better than I'd expected on the present front - including a new digital camera so the new year will doubtlessly be punctuated with rather more picture posts.
